Outerwear to Keep You Warm for the Holiday!

Girl in Knit SweaterWhat could say more about winter than a knit sweater! With such cold and windy days, a knit sweater will do the trick! They come in many patterns and colors to fit your style and are sold at a fair price. Some can be found at Forever21, and are usually sold around $20, more or less. If you love them, check out some sweater dresses as well. Sweaters are not limited to just a top, but also come as outerwear. Some look similar to jackets with buttons and are split down the middle. These sweaters look cute with short dresses or casual clothing, yet still give off the winter-theme feel.

Blue BlazerFeeling classy? Try on a blazer. Blazers are not just for professional wear, but also give you a more mature look. You can pair longer ones with dresses and go out to social events. The perfect blazer can give you a comfortable and forming shape on the shoulder, as well as leave you looking slim. Most blazers don’t come as light as the one above, so it will still block the wind on a cold day. And as any outerwear, they come in all sorts of colors and patterns.

Everyone has those old t-shirts lying around in the back of their closets; instead of letting them go to waste, make them wearable! T-shirt reconstructing has become a common DIY (do-it-yourself) project. It’s a simple way to update your wardrobe without spending more money. All you need is a t-shirt (oversized ones are even better) and a pair of scissors (preferably sharp). With just a plain t-shirt, you can create an off-the-should look or turn one into a racer-back tank!

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, you can be up close and personal with avant-garde couture fashion that has left its everlasting mark on our society.  This is the first exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art that will explore the world of fashion. The exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art will open to the public on Sunday, November 13, 2011. The cost of admission is $12.00 for students, but please don’t forget that you must pay $5 student admission to the museum first.
