Hats for the Holiday!

With all the talk of dressing up for the winter season, don’t forget about hats! Hats will keep your head warm and comfy as well as give you a fun way to show off a bit of your personality.

Bomber hats are in stock in many stores! You may have seen them around during the winter time, but never really took notice, but never really given them much attention. These hats are square shaped, with flaps that cover your ears. They are commonly found with furry material on the inside and often come in unique patterns.

Outerwear to Keep You Warm for the Holiday!

Girl in Knit SweaterWhat could say more about winter than a knit sweater! With such cold and windy days, a knit sweater will do the trick! They come in many patterns and colors to fit your style and are sold at a fair price. Some can be found at Forever21, and are usually sold around $20, more or less. If you love them, check out some sweater dresses as well. Sweaters are not limited to just a top, but also come as outerwear. Some look similar to jackets with buttons and are split down the middle. These sweaters look cute with short dresses or casual clothing, yet still give off the winter-theme feel.

Blue BlazerFeeling classy? Try on a blazer. Blazers are not just for professional wear, but also give you a more mature look. You can pair longer ones with dresses and go out to social events. The perfect blazer can give you a comfortable and forming shape on the shoulder, as well as leave you looking slim. Most blazers don’t come as light as the one above, so it will still block the wind on a cold day. And as any outerwear, they come in all sorts of colors and patterns.

Tailgate like a lady!

Thanksgiving is almost here and our bellies are fully prepared for the amount of turkey we are about to eat, but is your tailgating outfit prepared for the Thanksgiving Day game? Come on y’all, we live in Texas and even if you aren’t a true Dallasite you probably know that you need to rock an amazing Dallas Cowboy’s outfit to tailgate with the best of them. Here are some tips on how to style a cute tailgating outfit without breaking budget, and without wearing those tacky box cut jerseys.

navy Target cardigen, tan leather Charolette Russe boot, black Forever 21 legging

It is important to remember that you don’t need to break your budget to buy a NFL girl jersey just to support your favorite team. The easiest way to begin is to find an item includes your teams color. I strongly suggest finding a cute, v-neck boyfriend cardigan. If you are going to be outside, the Texas weather is so unpredictable that a fabulous cardigan can keep you warm, while not over heating you if it’s 70+ degrees outside. Since most people in the DFW area are passionate Dallas Cowboy’s fans we have put together an easy and stylish tailgating outfit for upcoming football games. Every woman should have their basic white v-neck tee in their wardrobe, so bust that out and pair it with this dreamy navy cardigan from Target. Wear this cardigan with a pair of black leggings from Forever 21, and light brown leather boots from Charolette Russe that are comfy enough for you to stand in. These boots give you a cowboy feel without being full on cowboy boots which will allow you to wear them more often. This outfit allows you to wear your team’s colors but still be stylish and feminine at the same time. The boots from Charolette Russe are a fabulous deal because when you buy one pair for $42.50 you get an additional pair for $15.50! Continue reading

Don’t SHOCK your parents, instead DAZZLE them!

Everyone wants to dress cute when they’re home for the holidays, but how do you stay trendy and stay under your budget?

This season, the style calls for patterned tops, blazers, and bright colors. The patterns range anywhere from polka dots, to swirls, to motifs; but the choice is really up to you. Blazers have become a hit among celebrities, but why stick to the plain black blazer when you can were a fire-truck red blazer. Along with blazers, are of course, long coats, and vests. It’s always a good idea to add color to your wardrobe. The colors this season, per New York Fashion Week, include, reds and blues paired, but also oranges and yellows. Marigold to be exact. But most importantly you have to be sparkly! You don’t have to buy that Dolce & Gabbana metallic dress or that red, knit Chanel coat. Stores like Forever 21 and H&M are up-to-date with the latest trends of the season and help you stay within your budget. Don’t forget to play with scarvesboots, and hats, to add to your winter look.

Fall Asleep With Your Boots On

Fall is officially here, and with the shift of the seasons comes a shift in the wardrobe. From tank tops to cardigans, and shorts to skinny jeans, it’s time to transition to cool-weather clothes. Of course, you’re not going to wear your cute fall outfits with flip flops, so it’s also time to move towards warmer footwear.

Luckily for us, girls, there are plenty of choices out there. Here are some budget-friendly options.

The Cozy Boot

cozy boot from Target.com

The cozy boot is a fall must-have. This one, from Target.com, is a wallet-friendly version of the popular, but expensive Ugg boot. I like it because it has a lot of the things you should look for: nice tread on the bottom, a fuzzy or furry lining, multiple color options (pick the one that matches the majority of your comfy, casual outfits), and it even opens on the side to make it easier to tuck your jeans or pants into them.

T-Shirt Reconstructing!

Everyone has those old t-shirts lying around in the back of their closets; instead of letting them go to waste, make them wearable! T-shirt reconstructing has become a common DIY (do-it-yourself) project. It’s a simple way to update your wardrobe without spending more money. All you need is a t-shirt (oversized ones are even better) and a pair of scissors (preferably sharp). With just a plain t-shirt, you can create an off-the-should look or turn one into a racer-back tank!

Adam Saaks of Ed Hardy
The best part of t-shirt reconstructing is probably weaving! This is when you braid, pattern, and create a new design element with your t-shirts. Adam Saaks of Ed Hardy is well-known for doing t-shirt reconstructing. You can get the same look without buying the expensive tops. Continue reading
